Tasting notes: mellow and smooth, notes of roasted nut and caramel with a hint of citrus
The beans: From the Tumaco Region, which has unfortunately suffered for decades from the consequences of coca cultivation and trafficking. These beans provide a great opportunity to prove that cultivating cacao can have a positive impact on both social and environmental issues. The women of the Afromuvaras Association pay particular attention to selective harvesting and post-harvest practices which in turn generates a higher income for their households. A blend of different varietals, these beans are grown in a complex agroforestry system before being fermented for 6 days in wooden boxes and being sun dried for 16 days.
